The Awning and Canopy Process
Step 1. You have a problem to solve or a goal in mind. Could be shade for a window, shelter for a door or walkway, branding/logo/sign/image needs for your business, or you just want to dress up an otherwise plain building.
Step 2. Call or email Welhener – H.B. Wall Awning or Kansas City Tent & Awning Company, depending on your location in the Midwest. Our helpful staff will direct you to the correct person or department to start the process. We assist customers in the greater Springfield, MO area, Kansas City, MO area, NW Arkansas area, Eastern Oklahoma and Kansas, and all of Missouri. Home owners, business owners, general contractors, architects, sign companies, and property managers. Hotel, motel, restaurant, building, strip center, school, church, home, government, private, for-profit, and not for-profit.
Step 3. Once the problem or need has been identified, our staff will propose a number of solutions and conceptual images so that you can see what each will look like. Maybe you need a fabric dome shaped awning for your home, or a metal walkway cover for your church or school, or a vinyl awning with your restaurants logo and custom lighting, or extruded hanger rod canopies for your business entrances. Or maybe something wild and completely one off! We custom make everything in-house with only the best components and local craftsman. Hand-picked fabrics, aluminum extrusions, and custom printed artwork. We have specific materials for every conceivable need. Heavy duty vinyl for your warehouse dividing curtain, LEED certified fabric for your Green building fabric awnings, and knitted mesh for your pool area shade sails….just to name a few.
Step 4. Review, edit, and check all shop drawings, artwork, and proposals to make sure we are all on the same page. We will then field verify the job/work site to make sure all measurements are as they should be for an exact fit. Once verified, we will begin production in our state of the art facility in either Ozark, MO or Kansas City, MO! We have all of the necessary equipment and machinery to produce the most advanced products in the industry. RF Welding machines for vinyl fabric, wedge welders for woven fabric, SGS graphics machines for artwork, UV ink printers and plotters for graphics, MIG and TIG welders for aluminum frames and canopies, computerized saws for cutting stock material, long arm, short arm, and zigzag sewing machines for custom sewn awning covers.
Step 5. Your custom awning or canopy is now complete and ready for installation. A member of our installation team will coordinate with you about the best date and time to begin installation. Some small awnings take little more than an hour or two on site. Some larger metal canopy projects take more than a week. We will work with you to get things done as fast as possible while keeping our footprint to a minimum.
Step 6. Enjoy your new awning, canopy, or shade sail. The benefits are numerous. From branding, to shade (reducing energy costs and skin cancer), to shelter from the elements. We have been in business for more than 100 years and will be around another 100 years. We have completed projects for nearly every large scale property owner in our area, have worked for all of the major chain store and restaurant establishments that exist in the Midwest, and have helped hundreds and hundreds of home owners with their shade, shelter, and home beautification projects. We are not a company that just happens to ALSO do awnings and canopies. All we do are awnings and canopies.
